"...test MPH was not only greater but was also more consistent in either direction. Also it felt as though the boat floated smoother than normal. Time to plane was better and mid range felt smoother in seas that were less than perfect, 18 miles per hour winds and 2½ to 3 foot chop. All around this could help in mpg and also work as an alternative to bottom paint nightmares."
Power boat racers and boat builders the World over know to their cost to get an extra 2 - 4 MPH out of their boats can be the most expensive 2 MPH ever, but it may be that extra 2 MPH that wins races.
Usually the only solution is to install the largest factory Mercury 502 Mag MPI (415hp engines) then have it reworked at a huge cost and possibly with no regard for money.
